Higher fat intake has been recommended for children in view of the high energy density. Vitamins & minerals are necessary for normal growth & development. Insufficient intake can cause impaired growth & deficiency like anemia.
On the other hand over nutrition may lead to obesity. AS per data & WHO, the number of childhood obesity has been increased over a period of time. Increase in fast food, highly processed foods, bakery items, all are the main cause of obesity in children both in school and colleges.
As per DT. Kavita Sharma, a big role we play as a Nutritionist to guide and teach students in school , colleges on Dietary intake. Good and bad carbohydrates and fats.We have to teach them and guide them about good eating habits and wrong.
